1. Checking ampacity but not voltage drop

The most common mistake on this list. 3. Using aluminum branch wiring without proper hardware

4. Sizing to the nameplate load instead of 125% for continuous loads

What it costs you: a circuit that looks correctly sized on paper but runs consistently hot under real, sustained use.

5. Assuming an online calculator replaces a permit and inspection
